    Easy Setup, Great Sleep

Posted by Jeff T.P. on 11th Oct 2020

I just finished two nights in this hammock. The integrated bug net is a must for Texas camping. When using this indoors (because doesn't every home office need a few hammock hooks?) the bug net stores away neatly in the integrated mesh bag at the foot end of the hammock.

The spacious double-ended stuff sack included with the hammock makes putting the hammock away a 30 second task. I also found the stuff sack was a great place to store other parts of my shelter/sleep system while the hammock was up--super easy to find those tarp stakes in the stuff sack at the foot of the hammock when I need to retie the tarp in the middle of some surprise sideways rain.

Last, but most importantly, the 11 foot length of the hammock and integrated ridge line really gave me the perfect hang without much effort at all.

If you're graduating from a more-casual store-bought hammocks, this one should be your first purchase. It's built so sturdy it might be the last hammock you need.

    zippered bug net hammock

Posted by Kevin on 15th Sep 2020

I haven't had a chance to really put it to the test yet, but I did set it up immediately. I gave away a different manufacturer's hammock to get this one, and I'm glad I did. Easy set up with the standard buckle straps, and I really like that I don't have to do anything extra with the bug net. It's a winner.

    Zippered Bug Net Nammock

Posted by Rich Johnson on 28th Aug 2020

After being a tent camper all my life, I decided to give hammock camping a try. I bought a HammockGear Zippered Bug Net Hammock after watching several YouTube video reviews. It came right away, and I took it out of a couple of overnight trips. But because I didn't order an underquilt with the hammock, I discovered that it was too cold to sleep in unless I used my inflatable pad, which doesn't really work too well in a hammock. So I have ordered an Incubator underquilt and am anxious to give it another try. But, that said, I can say that the hammock is very comfortable. I immdiately fall asleep once I am stretched out in it. The bug net is exceptionally well done, with zipeprs on both sides to enable entry and exit from either side. I love this hammock. Quality is top notch and I can find nothing critical to say about it. Can't wait for my quilt to arrive so I can take it out again.

    Well made & Light

Posted by Keawe Bray on 25th Jul 2020

Slept in it for two nights at Keaiwa campground on Oahu. Most comfortable spacious hammock I’ve ever slept in. Zippers easy to open and close. Ridge line perfect to hang items from. Stuff sack opens on both ends so you can leave it on the suspension line when deployed. Has a mesh peak bag built in one corner to store items. Looking forward to sleeping in it again soon.

    Love it!

Used it over the weekend. Performed well. Lightweight and packs small for what you get. Like the fact you can push the bug-net out of the way. Ridgeline is good and i dont have to adjust it. Using it next month on a multi day hike

    Zippered Bug Net Hammock

Posted by Chuck Seese on 29th Jun 2020

Had a great first night out under the stars this weekend!! My wife found her sweet spot very quickly and was rocking to sleep within minutes! Our order was delayed because of some faulty zippers, and the folks at HG more than made up for it!! Thanks for a great start to hammock camping!!!

    Well thought out

Posted by chris businsky on 25th Jun 2020

The hammockgear hammock is very well planned and thought out. Work the different colored carabiners to designate head verse foot end to the pouch to hold the big net if you pull it back. Very comfortable lay! Perfect size.

    zippered bug net hammock

Very complete, comes with ridgeline, net, symmetric hammock, gathered end loops, carabiners, small sack at the foot end and nifty stuff sack. All stitching well done, zippers worked flawlessly. Out of the box it is ready to use. (I will probably treat with permethrin for an added layer of protection.) As soon as the parks open I will test it outside my back yard.

    Zippered Hammock

Posted by Dave Hartinger on 6th May 2020

I haven't used the hammock on a hike yet, so the 4 rating. Next week. I have, however, set it up and tested it. I placed it side by side to a zippered Hennessy and it is very comparable. Lighter. I love whoopie slings and ordered this HG hammock with them. Based upon my test, this hammock will be an excellent addition to my collection. Dolly Sods next week will be my proving ground. Since Dolly Sods is an old proving ground, I hope this hammock with not be a bomb!

    ZIPPERED BUG NET HAMMOCK

Posted by MATT on 17th Mar 2020

I HAVE BEEN A LONG TIME USER OF A BIG BOX HAMMOCK. I JUST RECEIVED THE HAMMOCK GEAR ZIPPERED BUG NET HAMMOCK AND I AM BLOWN AWAY. THIS HAMMOCK VERY WELL MADE AND SUPER COMFORTABLE! THE BUG NUT ZIPPERED INTO THE HAMMOCK WORKS VERY WELL AND ALSO SAVES A LOT OF WEIGHT IN MY PACK! GOING FROM A 9FT HAMMOCK TO THIS 11 FT HAMMOCK IS A GAME CHANGER AS IT IS VERY COMFORTABLE. THE HAMMOCK ALSO COMES WITH WITH THE STRUCTURAL RIDGELINE AND WHOOPIE SLINGS SO IT IS GOOD TO GO OUT OF THE BOX. I AM EXCITED FOR MANY ADVENTURES WITH THIS AWESOME HAMMOCK!
