THE NITTY-GRITTY DETAILS

The WanderLust is by far our most popular hammock sleep system! This kit was designed to function at pro-level with a price that invites everyone to get the best sleep under the stars! This economical bundle of gear gives you the opportunity to include our industry leading line of American made economy insulation, at a 25% discount that is only made available with this package.

The Wanderlust includes our ultra soft, low stretch, eleven foot long Zippered Bug Net Hammock, available in a variety of colors to choose from. That's one to two feet longer than many of our competitors hammocks. By increasing the length of our hammock, it allows you to achieve a flatter lay, similar to what you experience at home in your bed. This hammock ships fully equipped and "ready to hang", featuring spectra continuous loops and ridgeline, carabiners, and a ten foot pair of our ultralight daisy chain tree straps. Not only is this our lightest weight suspension option, but it is also our most simple to use.

The Wanderlust Kit also includes our most popular sil-poly tarp, The Quest. This shelter features an eleven foot ridgeline, offering ample coverage for your hammock as well as any other gear stowed below. It is also lightweight, waterproof, and resists both sag and water absorption much better than tradition nylon tarps and tents. The absolute best part about this tarp is that it offers a completely knotless setup! Equipped with LineLoc hardware on all tie-out points, setting up your rain fly has never been so fast and effortless. Simply hook the loop end around your stake and pull the top line to tension your tarp's pitch perfectly. Each LineLoc is pre-assembled with color coded guy line that makes orientation even easier. The two ridgeline tie-outs feature twelve foot long neon green reflective cords, while the four perimeter tie-outs feature six foot long neon orange reflective cords; offering high contrast colors to increase visibility during both day and night. We've also added our titanium clip to the ridgeline, making setup and tear down as simple as the clip of a carabiner. This kit also includes four aluminum y-stakes and matching sil-poly stuff sack to keep your dirty stakes safely separated from the rest of your gear.

The Wanderlust give you the option to upgrade your kit with insulation, which is also included in the 25% discount. This steep discount on our insulation is only made possible by purchasing them as part of The Wanderlust kit. Both quilts are economy grade featuring standard length and width sizing, and offer a 20 degree comfort rating (not a survival rating like most brands). Both quilts feature Moroccan blue outer shells and black inner shells.

For customers who are interested in purchasing customized insulation, meeting their specific size, color and temperature rating preferences; simply select "No Thanks, I want to customize". You will still receive everything else included in the kit for 25% off the retail price, and are free to place an order for custom insulation at any time. Please understand that custom insulation orders are subject to longer lead times and our standard retail pricing, which are declared throughout the website.

Orders placed on or after 9/1/20 will ship in approximately 1 Week. Understand that if you elect to order custom insulation, the ship date of your Wanderlust kit is subject to the declared lead time for custom insulation. Please note that the only customization options available with The Wanderlust are selecting the color of your hammock and tarp. No customization and or substitutes can be made to any components included in The Wanderlust Kit. Please refer to each individual product listing for all kit components to see additional customization options available outside of this special kit offer!

Insulation, Hammock and Quest Tarp are all proudly made in the USA!

    Hammock Gear Wanderlust with insulation

Posted by Roland on 4th Oct 2020

So far, I have used this on one campout. I slept in this hammock for 3 nights. the temps dropped to 35 deg f at night. I am a new hammock camper, but have been camping in tents 100s of nights. Being new, it took me the first night to find the proper diagonal lay. Once I did, I had one of the best night sleep. I woke, laying there in near freezing temps and wondered how this thing keeps me so warm. It seems impossible that weighs much less than my tent, sleep pad, etc gear and I have no issues. In short. This is definitely worth every penny and is much cheaper than so many others

Great setup and easy to use!

Posted by Tony Greene on 2nd Oct 2020

I love this kit. Comes with everything you need to setup. Extremely fast and easy to setup. I like that it comes with double ended stuff sack tarp sock so its quick to take down and store as well. I Would definitely recommend this to anyone interested in getting started in hammock camping.

    Very well thought out

Posted by Matt from Massachusetts on 11th Sep 2020

First of all, I am brand new to hammock camping. I am an avid camper in New England and I have spent many nights in the woods in a tent. If I am being honest, I have made fun of hammock camping in the past... sorry. So why did I decide to pull the trigger? It can be a royal pain to find a spot to set up a tent, and on top of that I have been experiencing lower back issues and ground camping would just make it worse. There is my back story, here is my review:
-Setup: Easy. I took my new kit out into the woods and set it up without even having played around with it at home. Setup could not have been simpler. The hammock and tarp are clearly designed by guys and gals who use their own equipment and know what they are doing. Each little detail was perfectly thought out, from the straps, to the clips, to the guy outs.
-Quality: HG gives you the best quality for an amazing price. Period. All of the materials were well made, stitching was professional done, and I really loved the way everything nested inside of 1 stuff sack.
-Sleep: one night in the woods is hardly enough to write a full review on, but dare I say it... it might have been the most comfortable nights sleep I have ever had in the woods. I was a bit cool because my under quilt has not shipped yet but that is no fault of the hammock.

Now I am just looking for an excuse to get out and try my new hammock again! Thank you HG!

    Wanderlust

The HG wanderlust is sweet. Fully integrated system. Easy setup / takedown in just a few minutes. Packs small and light. 11’ hammock was perfect for 6’+ hiker. I have used for a two night backcountry test on the Long Trail - so far - one night in the rain. Hike on!

    Terrific value, for the best.

I also added on the top and bottom quilts. I was just getting back into hammocks, did not have anything. Now this stuff sets beside my pack ready to go. Awesome.

    Better Than Advertised

Posted by Troy on 29th Jul 2020

We upgraded to the Wanderlust from an ENO hammock setup. What an amazing package. We also ordered the sappy sack. When weighed, it was just over 40oz. It takes less than 2 minutes to setup or take down. We had other campers look in awe at how quick it took. We were rained on both nights and stayed dry and one night was just constant hard rain -- not much wind.
I am skeptical about a lot of products and rarely encounter products that are as good as advertised. This is one of the few products that is better than advertised. Outside of a sappy sack, I would recommend an organizer. The mesh tarp sleeve is amazing for when the sun is out or when packing up. It really is as easy as it shows in the video. The knotless setup makes centering the tarp over the hammock a breeze. The tarp also becomes a quick and easy shelter when hiking and a rainstorm comes quickly.

    Wanderlust package

Posted by Sheila G. on 2nd Jul 2020

Love the ease and comfort of the system, the glow-in-the-dark zipper pulls, and the bright colors of the guide cords on the rain fly. If I had to ding anything it would be the cold limit on the quilts not being low enough. I need a quilt when its cold, so having a 35 degree rating would be better, as well as the weight could be lighter.

    The Wanderlust

Posted by Jason on 20th May 2020

I recently purchased this kit for backpacking/general camping and could not be happier. The knotless set up stream lines the whole process, making for quick work with setting the tarp and hammock. With an overall weight of 40oz it works well for a lightweight backpacking sleep system while maintaining great comfort. This kit has turned me into an official hammock camper and I would highly recommend this product to others!

    Fantastic Upgrade

Posted by Russ on 5th May 2020

I do not normally take the time to write reviews, but this is no normal occurrence. I purchased the Wanderlust to replace and upgrade my ENO One Link System. The Wanderlust is half the weight, half the packed size, easier to setup/breakdown and an upgrade in materials/craftsmanship. Considering they both go for the same price, the Wanderlust is a no-brainer. After using it for a couple of trips, I am just thrilled with this purchase. My gear has gone to a whole new level and I am enjoying hammocking even more that ever!!! I have no regrets about this purchase and would highly recommend to anyone.

    Wannderlust

Posted by Me on 24th Oct 2019

Was excited all day, which made the work day drag; because I knew this was going to be waiting for me when I got home!
I am no stranger to glamping and bushwhacking hikes. But I never thought I could get into backpacking because I cannot get a good sleep on the ground without a crazy heavy air mattress or cot. Thanks to youtube I discovered hammock camping... Problem solved!
Never set up a hammock before but it took me about 10 minutes to figure it out, and another 10 to dial it in. Take down took just about as long. Could not really lay in it all that much because I did not really trust my anchor points; but it was just as comfortable as my bed. I plan to give it a few shakedowns on the LHT this fall and winter; after I pick up a quilt or two.

    Wanderlust Turnkey Wonder

Posted by Bob Kerner on 17th Oct 2019

I am new to hammock camping and the Wanderlust has proven to be a wonderful turnkey solution for getting off the ground! The hammock is well-made and the suspension easy as can be to set up. The tarp is pre-rigged with line. All you have to do is secure it to a tree and stake it out. The kit comes with a clever instruction card on how to achieve a good hang. Highly recommended.

    Wanderlust Kit

Posted by Jaeger Shaw on 10th Oct 2019

I just got back from my first ever hammock camping trip, five days on the Appalachian Trail, and I am totally stoked on the Wanderlust Kit. Prior to this, I would never set up or slept in a hammock, and I am happy to report that this one is very quick and easy to use. Its super lightweight, only takes five minutes to hang, and by the end of the trip, I had fully adjusted to hammock sleeping and would zonk out instantly. The quilts? They are awesome. The economy burrow looks and feels well built, yet is truly ultralight, ultra warm, and comes at a great price. One night got down to freezing and I was totally warm with thermals to spare. Great product! I would recommend for beginners and hammock veterans alike. I highly recommend adding in the Ridgeline organizers to your kit. Nice work, Hammock Gear!
