    Works great!

I have only used this for one night of winter camping but it has been great. I used it to attach my two hammock gear quilts together and to my sleeping pad. Good stuff.

    Great buy

Posted by TJ Nunn on 22nd Dec 2020

Was having trouble with cold drafts while using my quilt in conjunction with my sleeping pad. I move around a lot while sleeping and the attachment kit worked perfectly in keeping my quilt in place throughout the night.

They worked like a charm on both my inflatable and CCF pads. Its big help for a small price and weight penalty.

    wishing I had it earlier

Although I primarily sleep in a hammock, on a recent trip through the Smokey Mountains, I was required to sleep in the sheter one night out of three (I was on the AT). I borrowed a sleeping pad and used my top quilt. I fought keeping my top quilt (Burrow) all night. I purchased one of these kits (which is cheaper than buying the materials and making it myself) and tested at home. It works like a dream! If you ever have to "go to ground," these are worth the tiny weight and price penalty!

    Ground pad attachment kit

Used my Burrow quilt without using these straps and was VERY cold in 40F temps. Used them when camping in 25F weather and was roasty toasty warm. Essential item. This purchase is just a spare kit in case I lose one or all of them.

    Pad attachment

You wouldn’t think such a simple thing would help keep you warm. I just finished a week camping trip in the Grand Canyon and the attachment kept my quilt tucked all around me and I was toasty warm.

    GROUND PAD ATTACHMENT KIT

Posted by Rick Z on 21st Jan 2020

So far, so good. Used for a 2 night hike. I found it convenient and easy to use although I really have to wait until used many, many times to see if the elastic stretches out or stays as is. I recommend setting it up at home first and marking your pad where you want the 3 cords to be positioned, not doing it on the trail for the first time.

    Cheap and works... kind of.

Basically, the mitten hooks provided have a permanent gap. That means the fabric loop on the quilt can work itself free. Which is exactly what happened. 3 of 6 loops had worked its way free when I got up in the middle of the night. After reattaching all of them, in the morning, 2 of 6 had once again come undone. There must be a better way. I like that it's low profile but this is ridiculous.

    Response from Hammock Gear:
Thanks so much for your review with us! We'd like to fix that issue for you. The Burrows that we ship out nowadays have D-Rings attached to those loops, so the ground pad kit will work much better than just having the loops there. Please let me know when you have some time to ship it back to us, and we'll add those D-Rings for you.

There's a better way to attach these things!

Posted by Ellie on 30th Jun 2019

So the first night I used this I had a really hard time. It was tricky to get the loop on the quilt into the hook, and they kept coming unhooked at night. But then the second night I had a revelation! Just stick the entire double-ended hook through the loop, and then attach the empty end of the hook back to the shock cord. Once I set it up this way it stayed on all night and kept drafts out perfectly, and it was way easier to set up.
Sorry it's hard to describe without a picture, but basically when you're done the plastic hook itself should be through the loop on the quilt, with the shock cord going through both clips. Hope this helps somebody!

    Ground Pad Attachment Kit

This kit worked well for keeping my top quilt wrapped snugly around my ground pad! No problems with being exposed to cool temperatures while sleeping on a ground pad with a top quilt!
