Lightweight and durable with minimal stretch, our silicone impregnated ripstop polyester fabric 1.1 oz / yd² (20D) will keep you out of the elements.  This durable hex tarp system is both water and windproof, and resists the retention of water much better than traditional nylon tarps. Reinforced with 210D Polyester, all tie outs are built with grosgrain, and come standard featuring 1/2" Beastee D-Rings on the 4 perimeter tie outs and 3/4" Beastee D-Rings on the ridgeline tie outs. We also offer the option to upgrade all of the tie outs with LineLoc3 tension hardware to create a knot free set up! If you choose to upgrade to LineLoc3 hardware, we highly suggest adding two of our Titanium Clips to the ridgeline to completely eliminating the need for knots. We provide a free seam sealing kit, standard with each order to waterproof the tarp. Many find that seam sealing the ridgeline of the tarp is not necessary, but it is recommended.

Guylines do not come standard with our tarps. However, we do offer discounted hanks of our reflective guyline in combination with any tarp purchase! Simply select your desired hank length and color for instant savings.

    Excellent tarp

Posted by Wayne C. on 6th Sep 2018

I bought this to replace my worn out summer tarp. I could not be more pleased with my purchase. I have used it 3 times since purchasing. 2 of the 3 were in major storms. It kept me completely dry and withstood a pretty good beating from the wind. Construction and materials are both top notch. The price point is excellent to boot. I cannot recommend this tarp enough.

    Light weight and awseome

Posted by Robb C. on 7th Jul 2018

Much lighter than my Winter tarp. I was worried that it would not keep me dry in a bad storm. I was worrying for nothing. This tarp kept me totally dry in a torrential rain storm. This is my new go to tarp! Love it!

High Value, High Quality, Low cost

Posted by Drew on 31st May 2018

The Quest is my first "real" hammock designed tarp. I could not be happier. Got the 12 ft RL, so I have TONS of cover and room. When tied out (shock cord on the corners, hookworm, and zing-it to stake), it stays put. Wind and rain do not shake the edges and 100% (to the time of this review) waterproof. I got the wolf grey, and it looks awesome with my blue hammock.
My only complaint and this is with me and not the tarp, is learning how to fold it up. The silnylon is slippery.

Beautiful Tarp, very happy with it.

Great Tarp - great customer service.

I’m giving it 5 stars based on weight, performance and cost. First time out it rained hard and I was perfectly dry. I think the Quest is hard to beat for the price point and weight.

    GREAT TARP

Posted by J. Cullop on 16th Apr 2018

This is a great tarp. I ordered this replace my Winter Dream 11' tarp. It is much lighter and packs a great deal more compact. I'm not sure it will replace my Winter Dream and I have come to rely on the doors in windy wintery conditions. BUT - as soon as the weather is consistently in the mid 40's or above (when I can deal with the wind) this WILL BE MY GOTO!!!

If you buy this, you'll be glad you did!!

Amazing quality at an amazing price

Posted by Buddy on 27th Feb 2018

I have only owned one previous tarp and it was a $40 10x8 from amazon. I liked my old tarp and it functioned great for my 9 foot eno hammock.

However The Quest is in a league of its own compared to my old tarp. The Quest is half the weight and packs down super small. The material feels expensive and quality.

Sure the Cuben Fiber tarps are going to lighter but they are literally 4x more expensive! I am sure some people are not bothered by the price but if I were to get Cuben Fiber I would be so scared of holes or rips that it would ruin some of the enjoyment for me.

The fact that The Quest is a quality tarp under $100 is the reason I bought this tarp. It is stronger material than Cuben Fiber so I don't have to be so careful with it and in the event I do puncture or tear the tarp I can easily buy a new one because the price is so low!

    Great tarp Awesome price!

Posted by Dave on 8th Feb 2018

I ordered the Quest tarp in dark olive with an 11 foot ridgeline and lineloc 3 on the four corner tie outs. The stitching on the tarp is top notch. Hammock Gear has always provided me with a customization when ever I have asked. I can't thank Hammock Gear enough. Their equipment keeps me dry and warm.

    Great first tarp!

Posted by Pinestraw on 30th Jan 2018

For the price and build quality, you can't beat the Quest. I have the 11' Ridgeline model and it provides sufficient coverage for my gathered-end hammock. Would recommend to all beginners!

A good step up from a starter tarp

Posted by Brett on 1st Jan 2018

This is my 2nd hammock tarp. The first was a urethane-coated polyester tarp that I bought when I was unsure about the whole "hammock thing", it did well for me and convinced me to stick with polyester material. What the Quest gives me is lighter weight and greater coverage, D-rings, and a beautiful color and fabric, at a very nice price. I was staying dry in a 10 ft hammock while using a shorter tarp, the additional coverage of the 11 ft Quest is good for more weather protection and peace-of-mind.

    Exactly what I wanted

    Posted by bradym77 on 19th Oct 2017

I was looking for a good decent coverage tarp when I'm backpacking just by myself and don't need the extra coverage for myself and my fiance. This fits the bill, it's light, compacts small and I love it doesn't need to be seam sealed. Hammock Gear from Customer Service to the products are top notch!

Even smaller and lighter than I expected!

Posted by Jonathan on 17th Oct 2017

I ordered this tarp to replace a much bulkier and heavier poly tarp. I spent a long time researching every option before settling on the Quest as the best value for money option, being only slightly more expensive than non-sil tarps. I expected something good but when it arrived I couldn't believe how small and compact this packed down to. Now I'm looking at downsizing my pack as well!

    Awesome value

Posted by SuperDave on 5th Oct 2017

This was my second order from HG where my trip was right around the corner and I wasn't sure if it would come in in time. Both times HG came through in time and with a great quality product!
I got the 20d silpoly version and the first time out with it I got rained on. Not a drop of water made it through, it's light, packs down small and did I mention the quality? Really well made product, highly recommended.
