Made from 1.3 oz. per square yard Black Dyneema® Fiber, our Dyneema® Dry Bags, previously known as Cuben Fiber Dry Bags, will help keep your gear dry in the backcountry. This ultralight dry bag is made with tape welded seams to avoid leakage through what would otherwise require stitching. The Dyneema® Dry Bag's roll top opening is reinforced with stiff grosgrain and sturdy 3/4" Backpack Buckles to help compress gear and keep everything sealed closed for highly water-free storage. It is always advisable to avoid completely submerging your gear if at all possible as these Dyneema® Dry Bags are not rated to be completely waterproof if submerged for extended periods of time. Good bags

Posted by KayakerBee on 7th Feb 2023

While I’m a kayaker not a backpacker, ultralight gear is fabulous for the water. Most of the stuff you put in your hatches doesn’t need to be in a dry bag that can be submerged in water for 30 minutes.

These dry bags work fine against the dribble of water most of us find in the hatches although important stuff like top quilts and cameras still get stronger protection.

I do wish the bottoms were oval/gusseted rather than the flat seams.

Great quality...but sizing maybe a little off

Posted by Austin Hou on 27th Dec 2021

super light weight, and compact. However, for the Econo Quilt, (-17C) it recommended a 8.5L bag. I was able to stuff it into the bag, but was not able to get a good water tight seal with the bag. I also found the ribbon at the top of the bag, didn't work quilt like some of my other dry sacks. It twisted and didn't form a dry seal. Good thing it didn't rain/snow while hiking. If the ribbon was made a little stiffer, this would be a perfect bag. it might add a weight to the bag, but at least it would be dry. Or they need to update the sizing on their quilts, if I had a 10L bag, I likely would be able to close with a proper seal.

    Dyneema Dry Bag

We bought one of these to keep important stuff dry when kayaking. Very impressed with the quality as always, well-made and should last a long time.

    Sizing issues

Posted by jconradventures on 19th May 2020

Well-made, quality dry bag, however I found the fit not what I was expecting. Bought size Large for my 20deg incubated and 30deg too quilt (both Econ and Long). When I went to try it out the bag fit incubator well, but there was no way too-quilt was going to fit. Even cramming both way down, it was not possible to get even one “roll” down to even clip back together. Love hammock gear but looks like more ironing out to do as far as size recommendations! Returned product. Hammock gear great to deal with. Look forward to product updates, for now back to nyloflume!

    Dyneema Fiber Dry Bags

Posted by Ed Hodgens on 27th Oct 2018

Excellent product and very well constructed. I wanted to use a medium bag to go cross-ways within the bottom of my pack. I can stuff my full size top quilt and 3/4 size bottom quilt into the bag. However I had to add some velcro to the bag edges to be able to hold the closure for sealing. Moving up to a large bag with less compression may work also but larger than my pack width. As usual, Hammock Gear is great!!

    dynema roll top bags.

Posted by Myrl Rodgers on 20th Aug 2018

I ordered a 0 degree premium incubator and a 20 degree premium burrow 2 years ago. At that time I ordered a large dyneema dry sack from hammock gears as well. It had been a tight fit but they always compress down into that one bag! I hiked different times and various rain from light to heavy. I never had my quilts get wet in this dry bag! I recently ordered to premium 40-degree Burrows and two premium 40 degree Phoenix for the wife and I to use 3 season camping. It was a no-brainer! I went ahead and ordered for medium sized dry bags from hammock gear! The quality of these bags is supreme! Like I said I used a large to hold a zero degree incubator and a 20 degree Borough that had to be extremely stuffed and rolled, yet it is held together and still appears to be new! Their customer service has always been top rated!!! Anytime I've had a question they've always been fast to answer and have always tried to make any special order or time limit possible! These guys are great Craftsman when it comes 2 all their gear! Enough about these bags! And you wouldn't want to get me started on how well their quilts are made! I know in the future if and when I need a dry bag in the size they make, I'll be returning here to place my order! No hesitation.

    Dry bags - Almost perfect

Posted by Unknown on 4th Apr 2018

Super light and surprisingly durable. The HG dry bags are a great lightweight option for keeping your gear dry. I wish the dry bags had a round bottom. The rectangular shape never quite stuffs perfectly as the pointed corners are hard to fill and always left empty. I also found that the roll top strap and buckle (although extremely light), felt cheap and would twist and was difficult to get secure folds to make the bag water tight.

Great product but I would take the weight penalty to add a better quality buckle and strap design and I would pay extra for the added craftsmanship required to make the bottom of the bag rounded.

Other than that it performs as advertised. 3 stars!

    Capacity Description Inaccurate

Posted by Unknown on 26th Feb 2018

Ordered a 20° Incubator and matching 20° Burrow both with 1oz overstuff appx 3 years ago and both fit great inside my medium size Sea to Summit EVent Compression Dry Bag with room to spare.
I was always intrigued by Cuben Fiber and knew I was eventually purchase a Hammock Gear Cuben Fiber(now Dyneema) Tarp w/ doors.
I made the tarp purchase about a year ago and shortly there after was looking into snake skins.
Enter this year and I sprung for a Hammock Gear Mesh Tarp Sleeve and also saw the HG Dry Bags.
When I saw that according to the Specs the storage capacity of the corresponding Dry Bags, I jumped on the size recommendation accordingly, Large.
While the Specs and description states TWO Quilts will fit (depending on temp rating) in a large, it's a extremely tight fit.
I'm a little surprised Hammock Gear wouldn't have offered a one size fits all dry bag specifically for their quilts and smaller sizes for various other items and stated this accordingly.
The two quilts claim is very optimistic, but not accurate.
While it's doable, the fit is SO tight, the fear of the expansion of the quilts afterwards ripping the seams apart, resulting in failure is very real.
There really needs to be a single designated dry bag, large enough to handle both a 0° Incubator, Burrow (plus up to at least 3oz overstuff) and pillow, that way the doubt, isn't any longer an issue. No matter what temp rating quilts you own.
Hopefully a larger One Size Fits All dry bag, more specifically, wider, is in the works.

Adam and the rest of the Hammock Gear team put out fantastic, top notch quality products, just a little bit more research and testing for the smaller items would be hugely beneficial for both customer and business.

    Great set of bags!

Posted by Adam Soldo on 26th Feb 2018

After using these bags for a few trips I want to report that these bags are amazing. They are extremely lightweight and keep water out. I use them for food, clothes, and some of my more sensitive electronics. Will be purchasing more soon! Very happy with this product.

    Will definitely buy more

    Posted by J-fish on 24th Jan 2018

I use the 14L bag to pack my HG burrow20, HG down pillow, and a Warbonnet 20 degree lynx underquilt. They all fit perfectly with just a little bit of room to spare. You have to really compress the down and keep it compressed while you start to roll the top, then once I have a roll or two started it all try’s to expand back out. So then I push down on the top of the bag to fully compress the down while the air exits through one side of the top that I am holding loosely. Then once it is compressed as far as it will go I roll the top several times and clip it. The 8.5L I use for all of my clothing, I am able to fit my silk thermals, extra wool socks and injinji liners, fleece jacket, down vest, fleece beenie, and fleece gloves. Both bags are exactly what I was looking for to keep all of my gear organized and dry, and they weigh next to nothing. Very happy with these bags, I highly recommend them.
