The Dyneema Hex Tarp: Ultralight Shelter, Built for Any Weather

The Dyneema hex tarp is a high-performance hammock shelter built for campers who count every ounce. It uses Dyneema® Composite Fabric for ultralight strength and zero stretch, so it stays drum-tight even in a downpour. The six-sided hex shape delivers wide coverage without the bulk of a full winter tarp. As a result, you get dependable weather protection at a fraction of the weight. Whether you face surprise storms or clear alpine nights, the Dyneema hex tarp keeps your setup dry and dialed in.

A Dedicated Hammock Shelter

This is a doorless hex design made specifically for hammock camping. Therefore, it pitches fast over your ridgeline and sheds wind from either end. The open profile improves airflow on humid nights, while the generous panels still block driving rain. Because it skips heavy doors, you save weight without losing the coverage that matters most. It pairs naturally with the Circadian camping hammock for a complete overhead setup.

Zero-Stretch Dyneema Composite Fabric

At the heart of the Dyneema hex tarp is Dyneema® Composite Fabric, a laminate prized for its strength-to-weight ratio. Unlike nylon, it does not sag when wet, so your pitch holds all night. The fully taped ridgeline also removes any need for seam sealing. In addition, the fabric resists UV and abrasion, which helps the tarp last season after season. For colder trips, add a full-length underquilt to round out your sleep system.

Bombproof Tie-Outs and Reinforced Seams

Every tie-out on the Dyneema hex tarp is bonded and sewn for serious holding power. Two ridgeline tie-outs and four perimeter points give you flexible, secure rigging. Optional panel pull-outs add venting or extra vestibule space when you want it. Consequently, you can tune the pitch to whatever conditions sit in front of you.

Fast Setup and Solid Stability

Setup stays simple thanks to the taut, predictable hex geometry. First, clip the ridgeline, then stake the corners and adjust. The Dyneema hex tarp resists wind-driven flap because the fabric refuses to stretch. For ground use or added floor protection, pack a packable ground cloth alongside it.

Customize Your Hex Tarp Your Way

Build the hex tarp around the way you actually camp. Choose your ridgeline length, guy-out hardware, reflective guyline, and stakes to match your kit. Because the Dyneema hex tarp ships with a stuff sack and repair kit, it is ready for the field on day one. Camp responsibly and follow Leave No Trace principles wherever your shelter goes.

  • Ridgeline length options: 11 ft or 12 ft

  • Widest point (approx.): 8 ft 6 in

  • Fabric weights: Green option ~0.50 oz/yd²; Camo option ~0.60 oz/yd²

  • Tie-outs: 2 ridgeline tie-outs + 4 perimeter tie-outs

  • Hardware: ½-inch D-rings at each tie-out

  • Pack includes: Tarp + stuff sack + repair kit

  • Note: Guylines and stakes sold separately

  • Dyneema® composite has zero stretch to eliminate sagging when wet. Because of this quality, we also highly recommend adding shock cord loops to all tie-put points for added protection from damage in high-winds. It is equally important to not overtighten tie-out point as this can compromise the material over time.
