    Excellent quality

Posted by Backpacking Guy on 1st Nov 2022

Excellent quality underquilt. Warm, light and comfortable. I like the easy adjustments (4 shock cords per end) that allow you to get a good seal to prevent drafts without making it overtight.

Awesome 0 deg +2oz overstuff, Long

Posted by Chris D on 17th May 2022

Took a learning curve on my first excursion on how to set it up to have no drafts but once I figured that out before morning came I was warm and toasty. Can't believe how light it is to temp ratio. I use it with a Twisted Root Big Mozzi hammock. I love the long version as it covers my head and feet. I plan to camp in the winter a lot. Definitely worth getting. One stop shop. Buy it and forget it and don't be cold.

    Incubator 20 6 yrs later

Posted by Keith Cuomo on 30th Mar 2022

I’ve had an Incubator 20* under quilt for 6 yrs. and it is still going strong. I added the extra 1 oz and had it out into the teens – good to go. No cold spots or down settling. Normal care and storage and it’s a good as the day it arrived. Except for the dog days of summer, this is my “go-to” quilt.

Incubator nice but colors are off

Posted by Unknown on 24th Feb 2022

This underquilt is awesome. I’ve used it in Colorado from high alpine summer camps to 5°F winter excursions. It packs into a 10L stuff sack and is super light. I am right around 6’1”–6’2” and I cheated out by getting the regular size. I still fit but sometimes my feet slid out of the bottom. I’ll probably order another one and give this one to my partner.

All this being said, I selected the light green color, “moss green” I believe it’s called, and it is not green at all. It’s a metallic gold if anything. Just wish for the amount I spent on getting it custom, the colors were more accurate to whats shown online. Still a good product.

    20 degree underquilt

Posted by Frank Segaline on 14th Nov 2021

I was able to use my 20 degree underquilt for the first time with temperatures in the twenties and was extremely pleased with how warm it was. Adjustment was also very easy. It’s beautifully made and I would highly recommend it.

Best purchase in my entire hammock setup

Posted by G. Gulledge on 22nd Oct 2021

I bought a 20 degree Incubator all the way back in February of 2014, and it's been the best piece in my entire hammock setup. It's also still in perfect condition after a LOT of uses. The adjustable cords allow me to get the underquilt as snug as possible, so I can sleep like a baby even when it's well below freezing outside. I also own competitor products that, trust me, DO NOT COMPARE. This underquilt, paired with my 20 degree bag, make the perfect combo. I'm always eager to climb into the fluffy down, cloud-like hammock bed knowing I'll be warm and comfortable all through the night with this thing.

    Amazingly warm!

Posted by Chris A on 19th Oct 2021

We just got our incubators and were anxious to try them out. We bought 0° quilts but the best I could get is around 57° in the morning so far. At that temp, this thing is like a heating blanket. The warmth under me was literally the same as if I plugged in an electric blanket. Worth every cent. The next purchase will be the top quilts! Also, we love the fact they come with a storage bag to keep the down lofted, another great addon.

    Awesome

Posted by Gregory Smith on 3rd May 2021

***On my very first trip with this set***

I carried this along with a matching burrow quilt on a 4 day 3 night trip to Linville Gorge in NC in the last week of April. The lows dropped down to the high 20s the first night, then the low 30s the next night and finally the high 30s the last night. I knew going they were only rated for 40*, so I compensated with a hammock sock. The first night (set up next to linville river) I used my entire set up, Both quilts, the sock, a HG DCF tarp, down jacket, and a pair of thermal britches, and it was a success. Not only did i stay warm, but never even got CBS. The second night (again next to river, just further down)I left the tarp and my jacket off and it was a success again, with only minor CBS
( which come to find out was entirely my fault). The 3rd night (on top of mountain) I started in my wool pants and hammock sock, and jacket, and actually woke up burning up. I ended up down to just shorts and a tshirt in the quilts, and the sock unzipped. I couldnt have asked for better testing conditions, and I couldnt ask for better gear. I am beyond pleased with not only the product, but their customer service. Excellent communication and CS skills. I am fixing to order my last set of quilts to round out my collection (a 20* set) and will be the quilts i use on my thru hike next year

    Great Underquilt

Posted by Brad on 11th Apr 2021

The quilt itself is warm and lightweight. The adjustable ends are great for conforming to your body and holding heat in overnight. I have only used it once so far on a trip that did not get below 40 degrees overnight, but I was very happy with this underquilt and can't wait to use it again.

    Premium Incubator Custom

Posted by Adam Kincaid on 16th Mar 2021

So far I have used this on 4 trips and I am not disappointed. It is extremely warm and easy to set up, just make sure you understand how to make adjustments for different situations to get the most out of it. The warmth to weight ratio is amazing with this as well. Extremely happy with my investment.

    Premium incubator

Posted by Scott Elliott on 18th Feb 2021

Went for some goose down on Shugs recommendation, had been struggling to maintain warmth using climashield apex which left me thinking I am one of those cold sleepers...the hammock gear quilts changed my thoughts! Goose down really is perfect insulation and these are superbly well made quilts, super light, super compressible, super warm.
I went for premium 850 with 2oz overstuff.
    Brilliant job HammockGear.

Even better than my old one

Posted by John from Austin on 5th Feb 2021

For years I have owned a black 0deg F incubator. I love it -- I slept out one night at -10 deg F, and was warm (in a winter sleeping bag). Now that I live in Texas, I thought I could get away with a lighter quilt, so I bought a 20 deg F incubator. I love the color, I love the new way of marking the head and foot, I love that it fits my Warbonnet just the same way my old one does. I slept out in the yard on a 30 degree night, and it was arm and toasty. And, it will save me a little weight, and allow me to send my warmer underquilt off with my son when he goes to college up north next year.
