The Draft Plug: Targeted Warmth Without the Bulk
The Draft Plug is a small, removable down accessory that seals warmth into a zippered quilt footbox. It gives you the cozy heat of a sewn footbox with the venting flexibility of a zipper. Because it clips in only when you need it, you never carry bulky, permanently attached collars. As a result, you stay warm on cold nights and cool when the weather turns mild. For such a tiny piece of gear, it makes a real difference at your feet.
Why Your Footbox Gets Cold
A zippered footbox is great for ventilation, but the zipper can let cold air sneak in on freezing nights. After all, cold feet can ruin an otherwise good night’s sleep. Your feet are often the first place you feel that chill. Therefore, many campers wish their zipper footbox sealed as snugly as a sewn one. That is exactly the gap this footbox insulation closes.
How the Draft Plug Works
The Draft Plug is simple to use. It secures to the snap or mini cinch cord at the bottom of your footbox. So it stays put all night. When temperatures drop, tuck it inside to block the cold. Then, on warmer evenings, pull it out and let the zipper vent freely. You can also clip it to the cord for safe keeping when not in use.
Sewn-Footbox Warmth, Zipper Versatility
With this footbox insulation in place, your zipper footbox performs like a sewn one. In addition, you keep the option to open things up for airflow. In short, you get two footbox styles in one quilt. It pairs naturally with the Burrow top quilt and its zippered footbox.
When to Pack a Draft Plug
Reach for the Draft Plug whenever you expect a cold night or a sharp temperature swing. It is featherlight, so it adds almost nothing to your pack. For extra warmth, add a down hood or seal your system with a ground pad attachment kit. Together, these small upgrades stretch your comfort range without much weight.

The draft plug may be small but its the small things that make a big impact. I have tested the burrow with and without the draft plug. I was much warmer when using it.. just get one! You wont regret it.
Nice puffy plug of down. Draft plug cord loops right onto the cinch toggle on the bottom of your Burrow. Easy-peezy-draft-plug-squeezy.
I have stuffed clothes into the bottom of my quilt in the past, but I like this little draft plug. Effectively stops any draft and weighs almost nothing.
Worked great on another brand top quilt that didnt seal up all the way at the end and kept my feet warm all night looking to getting a sewn up foot box tq later on but for now the draft plug helped out and fixed the problem thanks
I use the plug to keep the draft off my feet actually worked great I opted for the draw string foot box
