The Standard Tarp with Doors offers a high-performance shelter solution with integrated doors for full weather protection. Its 8′6″ width provides efficient coverage for hammock setups, and the fully taped ridgeline and reinforced tie-outs deliver reliable performance in wind and rain. Tailored for hammock campers who want premium materials without unnecessary bulk, this tarp makes every hang more comfortable and secure.

Key Features

  • 8′6″ at the widest point—optimized for hammock use

  • Ridgeline lengths available in 11 ft or 12 ft for suspension compatibility

  • Fully taped ridgeline requiring no additional seam-sealing

  • All tie-out points bonded and sewn for maximum strength and durability

  • Integrated doors that allow you to button down for storms or open up for ventilation

Ideal Use
Ideal for hammock campers who demand high performance from their shelter. Use it when you’re dealing with variable weather, need reliable protection, and want a tarp that rigs cleanly, packs light, and stays tight when the wind blows.

  • Width: ~8′6″ at widest point

  • Ridgeline Length Options: 11 ft or 12 ft

  • Fabric Options: Dyneema® Composite (.50 oz/yd² for green version)

  • Tie-out points: Numerous perimeter and ridgeline tie-outs engineered for strong attachment

  • Finish: Fully taped ridgeline, all reinforced tie-outs

  • Included: Tarp and stuff sack (guylines and stakes sold separately)

  • Dyneema® composite has zero stretch to eliminate sagging when wet. Because of this quality, we also highly recommend adding shock cord loops to all tie-put points for added protection from damage in high-winds. It is equally important to not overtighten tie-out point as this can compromise the material over time.

Solid replacement

Loved the design, last had one from hummingbird hammocks (out of business), mine ripped and bought this to replace. Was nervous to let go a trusted piece of gear and take a chance on a new manufacturer during a thru hike. Love the lightweight design and the easy hammock sleeve. It is very durable in the storms. I would love to see a darker color (female and like my privacy) but I would highly recommend this item. Dont use the end tie outs, make sure you connect to a solid ridgeline to account for the wind. Gives more durability then using the ends only in wind

wish there were instructions

i know everyone does stuff differently and there's a ton of ways to set the tarp up but i wish there were a few sets of instructions on how best to do the tie outs and different ridgeline situations. i'm starting to figure it out but am not sure if i'm being efficient. otherwise the tarp is amazing because of how light it is! i also didn't realize how horrible i had it with a stretchy tarp. this has definitely changed my life.

Thanks so much for your thoughtful review, Melissa!

Youre absolutely righta bit of guidance can go a long way, especially when you're working with a versatile piece of gear like the Standard Tarp with Doors. While we design our tarps to accommodate a wide range of setups and preferences, we're working on putting together more visual and written resources to help folksespecially those newer to hammock campingget the most efficient and effective pitch possible.

That said, it's awesome to hear how much of a difference you're noticing already! Switching from a stretchy tarp to Dyneema is a game changerthe zero-stretch material really helps keep your pitch tight and reliable, no matter the weather.

Thanks again for the kind words and constructive feedbackit helps us improve and keeps us connected to what matters most: your experience out on the trail.

Happy trails,
